Valentine’s Day is one of my absolute favorite holidays since it’s associated with three of my favorite things: love, hearts and pink. Even though I’ve never had a Valentine, I absolutely love how this holiday celebrates all things love!
This past Valentine’s Day didn’t disappoint especially since Kev and I got to go home and celebrate with our family. I think the reason why I love the holiday so much is because I get to see the constant love between my family and friends.
Before heading home for the weekend, I celebrated with my residents through a Valentine Lovin’ party. Filled with baked goods, pink and sprinkles – we celebrated the holiday in style. We also made Valentine’s Day cards and holders so that we could spread the love.
Kev and I also got to surprise my Gammy for Valentine’s Day, which made the weekend even sweeter. Ever since I can remember, my Gammy has always celebrated with a heart-shaped cake. So this year I got to carry on the tradition with a pink velvet heart cake.
However, looks can be deceiving, although the cake looks delicious… I may have turned the cake into a pound cake. Word to the wise – bake heart-shaped cakes in layers!
Although it feels as if we celebrate Valentine’s Day everyday – it’s always nice to see a tangible proof of our love.
So cute! I get excited for holidays as well. I’m a nanny and made cupcakes for the kids I watch and bought them Valentines themed sprinkles to decorate. I think I enjoyed it more than they did haha.
