Last weekend, Katelyn and I crossed an item off our Fall bucket list by attending the annual Micanopy Fall Festival. It’s been years since I’ve been to a fall festival and this one didn’t disappoint. This festival also reminded me of the Georgia Mountain Fair my family would attend when I was younger.
It seemed that all of Micanopy and the surrounding area was at the fair. I think that was what made it so fun – seeing everyone together to celebrate fall. One whiff of the air and my mouth was instantly watering – funnel cakes, fried chicken, fresh, squeezed lemonade, cotton candy, to name a few.
In addition to the glorious food, there were also different vendors and a live band. There were so many vendors that it was hard to keep up with all of the sights. And the band brought back such fond memories of mountain music; the kind my Gammy would play for us.
The crafts were the kinds that you just know took time and love to create. Katelyn and I absolutely love all things crafty, vintage and “antiquey.” It was so fun to walk along the different booths and imagine their crafts in our own homes. And of course, Kate and I left with a few new crafting ideas.
My only regret is that Kate and I weren’t able to capture the moment together. But then again, that means we just have to attend next year’s as well!
