Since the start of Spring, I’ve kept a running list of all the things I love about the season. It has everything from my favorite activities to new adventures and random thoughts. I know I say this about every season, but I just love Spring with all of its beautiful things. From the new blooms to the fresh beginnings, there’s just something so special about it.
Here are some of the things on my list for this Spring:
1. Spring Decor
I absolutely love decorating the apartment for different seasons and holidays because it just makes it feel more homey. My parents still decorate for holidays, and it makes my heart so happy to continue the tradition. I welcomed in Spring with this adorable door mat from Target. Seriously, how cute is this?!
2. Blueberry Picking
Growing up we would often go strawberry and blueberry picking as a family. I haven’t been blueberry picking in a while, and plan to visit South Moon Farms. Their season opening is in May, so that gives me some time to find recipes calling for blueberries. I hate for things to go to waste, so I plan to make the most of the berries. If anyone has a blueberry recipe they love, please share!
3. Spring Style
My spring wardrobe typically includes some sort of pastel, bangles, stacked bracelets and pineapples! I love to mix and match different pieces to create an all-together look.
4. Picnic Time
I have such fond memories of picnicking with my Gammy during the Spring and Summer months. We would load up a picnic basket filled with our favorite goodies and head outside to enjoy the weather. Most times the picnic ended up in the backyard surrounded by the garden. Gainesville has such beautiful parks and outdoor areas to choose from.
Love this picnic list + adorable graphic from HelloGiggles!
5. Baseball Season!
Spring has always been synonymous with baseball for me. I grew up in a household where the love for baseball was abundant. Dad played baseball throughout high school and part of college. Kev played baseball throughout high school. And I lasted 1 hour of little league T-ball… a story for a later time. Anyways, I’m really looking forward to catching some games! Whether it’s college, professional ball or little league, there’s just a love for this game that remains constant throughout time.
6. Spring Cleaning
Ugh, you can’t usher in Spring without the mandatory cleaning. I know it’s important to start fresh and clear away the old. But geez, it can become overwhelming. I hate cleaning, so I plan to use this guide from OhMy!Creative to help keep me sane. It’s so cute and Springy – I’m hoping that it’ll keep me motivated. One step at a time is my motto… or passing the responsibility onto Kevin. Either way works for me!
7. New Season, New Hair
For some reason it’s always worked out that I change my hairstyle in the Fall and Spring seasons. Typically I’ll keep my hair shorter in the Spring and Summer months and longer in the others. Florida seems to have a consistent temperature of hot, but I feel lighter in the Spring when my hair’s shorter. This haircut is a few hours old, so I’m still getting used to it!
8. Flowers, flowers + more flowers
My love affair with flowers and gardening started at a young age. I’ve never met a flower that I didn’t like. When Kev and I were younger, we’d go on walks with my Gammy through the neighborhood. On these walks we’d pick any flower we could find. Needless to say, I still have a hard time passing up moments to pick flowers. Right now, my favorite this season are these beautiful pink hydrangeas.
