My mindset has been stuck in vacation mode all summer long (even when I’ve been stuck with classes + work). I’ll just go ahead and chalk it up to my lack of blogging too… you know, it’s summertime where the livin’s easy.
These past few months have been spent traveling, relaxing and experiencing a lot of firsts. I’ve already talked about some celebrations from May and state park hopping in June, so I wanted to share my favorite memory from July.
It’s a combination of the best things: school counseling + Denver + conference. This is where some of those firsts come into play too. I think it should be known that I like traveling on roads and keeping my butt firmly on the ground, thank you very much. But road tripping to Denver wasn’t exactly feasible, so flying it was! My first flight was exactly what you’d expect: nerve wracking and exhilarating. I’m very, very thankful for my school counseling girls. They were the absolute best travel companions.
Our destination was Denver for a school counselor conference. We may or may not have ended up spending more time exploring than in the actual sessions, but it’s the experience that counts! From learning about how to best help students to meeting other counselors, it was amazing.

You know when you’re just having the best time and don’t capture it in pictures? That’s exactly what happened on this trip. Some parts of the trip were completely phone free – and you know what, I think those are my favorite memories. Just connecting with my girlfriends and learning about a new city.
However, between the 4 of us, we were able to capture some parts of the trip. From going to the Denver Botanical Garden to Voodoo Doughnuts, (and literally everything in between) – Colorado has my heart.
Here’s a quick glimpse of our trip:
