It’s no secret that I happen to love all things Fall. Every time the season rolls around I cant help but share my favorite memories. The only drawback to living in Florida is that there’s really no big weather change to mark the new season.
So over these past few years, I’ve started to see our annual Lowe Pumpkin party as the start of Fall. This past weekend we celebrated in our usual style: lots of food, spiked drinks, pumpkin decorating and reminiscing on childhood classics.
For food, I love to do simple dishes that everyone can enjoy. This included lots of appetizers: my mom’s spinach dip, this Texas Trash, fresh veggies, pimento cheese, crackers, bacon-wrapped bread and some weenies. For the main course, I did a big pot of chili with all the fixins’. We also needed some sort of veggie and this Fried Corn Confetti was so, so good. 10/10 recommend.
Desserts are always my favorite to make because it reminds me of time spent in the kitchen with my family. Mini spiced-apple bundt cakes, Mississippi mud bars, cookies and harvest trail mix were on the list for this party.
And of course, the party wouldn’t be complete without a photo booth and pumpkin decorating. A special thank you to my sweet friend Montana for helping set-up the photo booth. This photo booth backdrop was so easy to do – all you need is some streamers, fun signs and props.
And I know I don’t say it enough, but a very special thank you to the little brother for everything he did for the party.
Now that I think about it, I guess that’s really my favorite part about hosting the Fall party. It’s a time to give thanks for the moments spent together with our friends.
