Weekend in Sanford

A few weekends ago we traveled up to see Kev and explore the town of Sanford, FL. I’ve talked about this before, but one of my favorite parts of living in Florida is getting to explore all these different towns. You never know what you’re going to find. This trip led us to authentic German food, tea rooms and sweet marshmallows!

The main draw to the town was the authentic German restaurant, Hollerbach’s. My mom had heard rave reviews about the restaurant, and what better way to prepare for Oktoberfest than by visiting! Every year they host a huge celebration of food, entertainment, dancing and more. This year the party starts on October 12.

After eating our way through Germany, we decided to walk it off by exploring their Main Street area. We found ourselves in the Rosie Lee Tea Room that was complete with British-inspired decor, spa treats and of course, tea!

My favorite part of the trip, besides seeing Kev, was heading into Wondermade. If you love marshmallows, then this is the store for you! From seasonal flavors like Apple Cinnamon and Pumpkin to year-long flavors like Salted Caramel and Bourbon, the options are endless. You can build your own s’mores or select marshmallows to be roasted right in the store. Of course, I went with roasting marshmallows and it was the perfect, gooey way to end our weekend.

And of course, I couldn’t leave the town without a sweet treat for the road! Already dreaming of our return back to this town.
